I’m speaking at SharePoint Saturday London! #spslondon

I am very excited to announce that one of my sessions has been selected for SharePoint Saturday London on 11 July 2015!

I’ll be doing my session “Ye Olde Candy Shoppe: Building an Information Architecture from Scratch” – which is actually more of an interactive session than a demo. Here’s a summary:

This session will take a real-world example of building a simple publishing site based on a candy shop and break the requirements down into metadata. This exercise is a simplified version of what information architects to do determine a SharePoint information architecture and will give participants an indication of the questions that need to be asked, the structure that needs to be determined and the basic implementation of this structure in SharePoint.

london_palace_guardsThis session mostly takes place on a white-board with audience participation! It’s a simplified version of what I do when working on requirements with a client and shows how to get from “what metadata do we need?” to “how do we build that in content types?” I find it fun because it comes out differently every time. Bring your tricky questions – the more audience participation, the more interesting this is!

See you in London!
